Teachers and students use professionally prepared guides to study food chains from regurgitated owl pellets. Kit allows students to investigate the diets of owls as birds of prey. Pellets are easily dissected to expose skulls and other skeletal parts. Undigested remains of animals provide bones, teeth, hair, or feathers as evidence of the prey animals. Charts of skulls and skeletons are available to assist students to identify the prey animals.
